The Health Care Association of New Jersey (HCANJ), a non-profit trade association representing long term care providers, has selected Bergen Regional Medical Center’s Congregation Ahavat Chesed to receive this year’s Volunteer of the Year Award in the Group Category. For over a quarter century, the volunteers of Congregation Ahavat Chesed have facilitated religious services, spiritual activities and cultural programs at Bergen Regional Medical Center through the synagogue they have developed within the facility.

This is the fifth consecutive year that a volunteer, or volunteer group from Bergen Regional Medical Center, have been honored. BRMC Ahavat Chesed volunteers Eli Malka, Jane Devries, Al Susman, Miriam Zellin, Dr. Eva Adler, Helga Bideen, Risselle Winograd, Lotte Buff, Fred Buff, Elaine Goldmintz, Rose Harris, Miriam Moskowitz and Inga Schneider were honored at the Annual HCANJ Awards Luncheon held on October 28, 2008 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ.
