I am proud to be the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Bergen County’s safety net hospital.
Despite our long history of providing care to those who need us the most throughout Bergen County and beyond, I still meet people every day who don’t know about all of the services we provide.
Most people seem to know that we are a large and leading provider of mental health and addiction services. We take pride of the changes we have recently made to our Mental Health/Addiction Services Access Center which has allowed us to better serve more patients and providers in need of behavioral health support.
What people do not realize is that Bergen Regional is both the largest hospital with 1,070 beds and the largest licensed nursing home in New Jersey. BRMC provides a comprehensive set of quality services including Long Term Care, Behavioral Health Care and Acute Care to the Bergen County community and is a safety net provider for the underinsured and uninsured in the State of New Jersey. In addition, Bergen Regional has a full service emergency department, state of the art operating suites and more than 20 ambulatory specialty services available through the BRMC clinic.
If you have not visited BRMC in some time, I encourage you to get to know Bergen Regional as it is today and consider us for your healthcare needs or the healthcare needs of your loved ones. Our Medical Center is fully accredited by the Joint Commission and maintains the strongest dedication to providing both quality of care and quality of life for our patients and long term residents. This is why we say, “Our Patients and Residents are at the Heart of Everything We Do.” These are not just words to us; it is our mission, our vision and our commitment.
We take our role in the community seriously. This is why we offer free community health fairs, monthly educational workshops and classes and summer concerts.
In a time filled with uncertainty, Bergen Regional Medical Center continues our mission to provide care for all those who walk though our doors. This is not only Bergen Regional’s commitment, but my personal pledge to you.
Sincerely,
Joseph S. Orlando, FACHE
