Community Outreach Coordinator

Bergen Regional Medical Center, the largest hospital in New Jersey is seeking an outgoing person with excellent communication skills to visit hospitals and other health care facilities to let them know about the behavioral health and long term care services provided by the Medical Center.
In this role, the information you provide to the community will help with the referral of patients in need of essential mental health and/or long term care services. You will also attend community meetings and functions as a representative of the hospital. Prior experience in healthcare is preferred. Sales and marketing experience a plus. A car and a valid NJ driver’s license are required.
Patient Access Representative
Arranges for the efficient, orderly admission of patients by ensuring that all points of registration (Emergency Room, Outpatient Ambulatory, SDS, Behavioral Health and Admitting) obtain accurate patient information and that patients are made aware of hospital policies and procedures. The Patient Access Representative interacts with the hospital staff and patients to assure quality care of patients throughout their hospital stay.
Requirements: High School Graduation and some college preferred; 1 to 3 years customer service experience; prior registration knowledge required; typing 50+ WPM; prior medical terminology.
The Medical Review and Appeals Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Denial and Appeals Process including intake, monitoring and reporting. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing and reviewing prospective appeals for reconsideration of denied charges.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field. Current NJ license as Registered Nurse or in appropriate discipline. Two to three years Hospital Case Manager with Appeals experience three years of experience working for a health insurance company, HMO, or similar organization processing health care claims preferred.
To schedule hospital-wide services such as laboratory, radiology, cardiology, clinic, physical therapy and behavioral health onto the On-line Resource Scheduling system to provide optimal access to these services. Responsible for informing physicians and/or patients that are Medicare recipients of any ABN issues. Demonstrate professionalism and sensitivity when interacting with patients, clients, families and fellow coworkers. Create and promote an environment conducive to teamwork. Ensure confidentiality.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Two to three years previous scheduling experience. Must be proficient in all aspect of insurance requirements and knowledge of charity care guidelines.
Clinical Education Information Analyst
Work with MIS Management and users on researching, planning, coordinating, and implementing new applications; provide training for new and existing financial, clinical and/or administrative system applications. Troubleshoot problems and provide report from applications; Interface between users and vendors on issues, requests, or enhancements. Work with Director on creating project plans, presentations and overviews of applications as required.
Requirements: Bachelor’s or Associates degree in computer science. Prior experience in user (financial, clinical or administrative) environment that the application supports. Five to nine years of Project Management in computer Analysis, Applications Development/Support, Implementation, and Training preferred. Knowledge and Experience in Databases and Database tools.Knowledge of Word, Spreadsheet and Presentation programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
CADC or LCADC: (PT and FT Positions available)
Provide Case Management, individual and group counseling with adolescent and adult populations, conduct treatment planning using relevant psychosocial assessment information. Demonstrate understanding of the biological and socio-cultural dimensions influencing Substance Use Disorders. Maintain extensive knowledge of local and other referral sources; formulate individualized discharge plans.
PATIENT ACCOUNTS REPRESENTATIVE
You will be responsible for submitting claims to all payors in a timely manner, performing follow-up with third party payers as well as government payers, working payer remittances and correspondence. Communication with front end departments, i.e.: Patient Access, Medical Records and ancillary departments. You will also attend required meetings and assist in the training of new and established employees. High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 6 months of experience in medical billing procedures and familiarity with third party insurer regulations required as well as intermediate level computer skills including Excel and Word, computerized billing knowledge, good interpersonal and communication skills and pass alphanumeric skills and 25 wpm typing tests.
PER DIEM RNs, ACUTE DIVISION
• Critical Care RNs: Responsible for the total nursing care of assigned critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Units. Collaborates with patients, families, physicians, and other health team members to formulate a plan of care and performs all duties of the staff nurse. Requirements include graduation from an accredited school of Nursing; NJ RN license; BSN preferred. At least one year of Critical Care experience is essential along with current BLS, ACLS and IV certification. Successful completion of both in-house Intensive Care Orientation Program and in-house EKG course required.
• Acute Med/Surg RNs: Responsible for the total nursing care of Acute Medical/Surgical patients including assessment, treatment, observation and documentation. Providing comprehensive patient care also involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team and orienting patients and families. Requirements include graduation from an accredited school of Nursing, BSN preferred, NJ RN licensure and BLS and IV certifications, with 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
PER DIEM LPNs, LONG TERM CARE AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients (e.g., medications, treatments, dressing changes, TPR) according to established standards. Graduation from an accredited school of Practical Nursing or equivalent education as described by the State Education Law. Current NJ license as an LPN. BLS required. At least one year of Long Term Care or Behavioral Health experience required.
CERTIFIED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST – PER DIEM
The CRT provides coverage for all divisions served by Respiratory Care Services as required. Requires graduation from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program. Current NJ license as Respiratory Therapist required, CRT certified by the NRBC, BLS certification. 1 year of critical care experience preferred.
REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST – PER DIEM
The staff therapist is responsible for providing basic and advanced Respiratory Care services to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The therapist plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of Respiratory Care. Requires Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care Technology required; BLS certification by the AHA. ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification preferred. NJ State Respiratory Care Practitioner license. Previous clinical experience in Respiratory Care preferred.
ATTENDING PSYCHIATRISTS – INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT (F/T AND P/T)
The inpatient psychiatrist will provide evaluations, treatment, family meetings and discharge planning within a multidisciplinary team, and participate in resident training and supervision. The outpatient position includes evaluations, medication monitoring, psychotherapy and resident training and supervision. Weekday and night on-call required; weekend coverage optional.
Must be MD or DO, completed psychiatric residency, NJ licensure, DEA and CDS. Board certification preferred.
ASSISTANT MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
Provide supervision to Attending Psychiatrists pertaining to Performance/Quality Improvement matters and initiatives pertaining to regulatory compliance. Provide supervision to unit staff; fulfill administrative responsibilities and develop role of Psychiatry services appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Provides direct evaluation and treatment services to patients and provides service coordination to assigned caseload.
Current NJ licensure as a Psychiatrist required. Board certification in Psychiatry. Valid and unlimited license to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey. Valid license to prescribe controlled substances (DEA and CDS)
6 years of direct clinical experience, including 3 years as a clinical supervisor. Administrative experience preferred. Documented experience in developing and implementing performance improvement projects in the direct clinical setting.
ASSISTANT DIRECTORS OF NURSING – ACUTE - PER DIEM-FLEXIBLE SHIFTS
Responsible for the clinical and operational management of a specific Nursing division, ensuring that standards of practice for nursing and patient care are maintained; participates in developing departmental plans and programs as required; collects and provides data on unit activities, QA issues, and staff inservices, as required. Current NJ licensure as RN required. BLS/ACLS required. IV Certification required. At least one year Med/Surg and Critical experience. One year management experience.
